August 12th-

Peaches from south of here, Pennsylvania and So. Carolina, are tangy sweet and juicy. Ripening may take a few days at room temperature.  New England peaches should be available again next year.  (Deep freeze in February wiped out the buds this year).

The bees have been bringing in nectar since April. The Loosestrife in the muddy Bowers Brook marsh, and our Sunflowers & pumpkin flowers, are providing forage now. We’ve spend the last 2 days extracting, for the 2nd time this summer, and there is more to come!
Gingergold and Gravenstein apples, the best of the early apples are here.
