We started bee keeping in 2011 with one hive from a swarm, then a second one.  Over the years the number of hives has fluctuated.  A few years ago black bears moved to town.  The electric fence is the only hive protection that works here.

Bee’s wax is available at the stand in 2 oz. packages.  Here are links to recipes for lip balm and moisturizing bars that you can make at home:
